Each year Belle Isle plays host to the Lake Conway Wipeout. This is a day long festival that raises funds to donate to leukemia cancer research. In 2012 over $3,000 was raised and in 2013 more than $9,000 was donated to cancer research. The event itself is only accessible by boat and it ends up looking like a small floating island of boats moored together in the middle of the lake. On shore there are vendors for food and drink and plenty of places to set up a tent and sunbathe. The event also hosts a Jet Ski race tournament, which has entry fees and prizes, and a portion of what is raised being donated to the cancer fund for the day. There is even a raffle boat where those at the event can go to buy raffle tickets for fun prizes. Additionally they even sport a vending boat so that boaters do not have to leave the lake if they are hungry or in the mood for a drink while in the sunny Florida weather.
