‘The City Beautiful’.  If you know where to go, you can experience what this name really stands for.  Orlando is a city home to a very diverse group of people, cultures and is filled with hidden gems that make it a truly unique place to live.  Besides boasting more golf courses per square mile than anywhere else in the state, it is also home to Disney, Universal Studios and several other attractions that can keep any newcomer busy for months on end. 

Downtown Orlando is home to an extremely active nightlife, and it is well sought after by the local population as well as visitors from out of town.  During the day, downtown Orlando is host to thousands of commuters who seek the high paying jobs offered at the various financial buildings in the city.  The tallest building downtown is the SunTrust Center, which was built in 1988, and boasts an impressive 441 feet and 37 stories.

Lake Eola is just a short walk from Orange Avenue and is a site to behold.  The lake is almost exactly a mile around and has a walking path for those who would like to take a stroll. You can often catch people feeding the swans who take up residence.  All around Lake Eola are shops and restaurants that are constantly packed with the local residents and those visiting from out of town.  You can even rent a paddle boat, which looks like a giant swan, and paddle out to the historic fountain located at the center of the lake.  

The real estate in and around downtown Orlando continuously appreciates in value year after year.  The 2016 average home sale in the Orlando Metropolitan area is $200,000 and rising.  An increase from the 2015 average home sale of $177,500.  An increase of 12.62% year to date.  For prospective residence, there is no short supply of good paying jobs in and around downtown Orlando. The schools in the area consistently rank as B or A schools, depending on the year.  Realtors have a wide range of properties to choose from – anything from small condos to large mansions located on one of the many lakes in the area.

Downtown Orlando also boasts one of the most sought after ‘Little Vietnam’s’ in the whole country.  Right up the road from Orange Avenue is Colonial Drive, and only 5 minutes from the heart of downtown you will find this little strip of Vietnamese cuisine.  There are over 8 authentic eateries and even a Vietnamese shopping market for those requiring authentic ingredients for your exotic culinary dishes.  

The parks located in downtown Orlando are plentiful.  In the heart of downtown alone there are several, including Lake Eola Park, Sunshine Park, Dickenson Azelea Park, Langford Park, Delaney Park, and Al Coith Park – all of which are within 2 miles of each other.  

Finally, one of the newest additions to Orlando is the Amway Center.  Constructed in 2010 and 2011 and opened officially in 2012, this beautiful arena boasts some of the most state of the art technologies that exist for these types of venues.  The jumbotron (large screen television) alone broke records for the sheer size and weight.  The Amway Center is the home of the Orlando Magic, Orlando Solar Bears (amateur hockey) and the Orlando Predators an Arena Football team. 

Currently under construction, is the Orlando City's downtown stadium will be a home to Orlando City (MLS) and Orlando Pride (NWSL).  The site is two blocks from the Amway Center and within walking distance of the downtown bar district.  The stadium has been designed with the intention of creating the loudest and most intimidating atmosphere in Major League Soccer, with North America's only safe-standing supporter section and a low slanted roofline to amplify crowd noise.
